I wonder if she will get the hint
13: Dad, can I have a couple of friends spend the night this weekend?
Me: I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over the clutter in your room that has also moved into the living room.
13: *blink

I should probably think about sleep sometime.

Quick week
Walked into work Monday and was told “get on a plane to Toronto”. One of our plants needed help.
No problem. I love Toronto.
Arrived Tuesday. No problems. Great time. The 401 was awful, as normal. If you know Toronto, then you know the highway I speak of.
Flying home tonight. Because of the short notice I grabbed flights I could. So I went from Toronto to Newark, NJ. Got here to find out that my 9 pm flight to Louisville is now 11.
No big deal, just makes a person grumpy after a long day.I guess there was not much point in this. Carry on.

No sleep. Really need to shave.

Zebras got me
When I teach new technicians, I always teach them the phrase “when you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras.” It basically means when fixing a problem, always look at the simple solutions first. You know, if your cd starts skipping then look for a scratch before you go out and buy a new cd player.
I spent all last week 16 hours a day plus Saturday working on a problem. I could not get this machine to work, no matter what I did. I got buried in the problem and by the end of the week I was totally rewriting all it’s code. I had asked over and over to everyone, trying to verify that everyone else had done their jobs.
Yesterday I double checked instead of just taking people’s word. I found the issue. A 5 cent bar code label was not coded correctly from our IT department. Correct that, suddenly everything works.
What I’m saying is whether it’s work or personal, don’t get so buried that you lose the ability to step back and look at the simple stuff. -
Good morning

This was me one year ago at 380 pounds and me now after losing 180 pounds. I am a different person inside and out!

Hi there
I haven’t posted much in a long time. I’ve been stuck in my head for a while, trying to find out who I am and fixing myself. I have been hearting posts and sending little notes, but not sharing a lot on my end. I will do better this year, it is my goal. There are a lot of thoughts rattling around in my head and it will be good to get some of them out. To set a record (for me), see my next post for how much I’ve changed in a year!
